EDUGEP implements this continuing service, 5 days a week, 12 hours a day in order to be able to efficiently respond to the numerous situations that arise in schools. The service provides an immediate response to the needs and requests of schools and solve problems schedules, meetings, faults etc. with a professional and personalized service.
EDUGEP has created an application for CEA Management, based on a WEB platform that allows a rigorous selection of teachers from an existing database of thousands of resumes. The application also allows human resources management and student assessment, as well as school and group access to the management so that they can consult all information about teachers and assessment. The latter feature, however, is still not widely used.
As English is one of the core activities of curriculum enrichment, EDUGEP attaches particular importance to it. It has therefore developed the Smart English program, which is based on the curricular guidelines for teaching English in basic primary level, planned to integrate school curricular projects, for which we design a quality plan of structured playtime, fulfilling the curricular guidelines of the Ministry of Education. It also enables cross curricular teaching with the English groups of each group, if they so wish and is supported in a quality project in partnership with Porto Editora - SMARTIES. This is provided in the form of a set of materials offered to schools and available to teachers. In order for EDUGEP to motivate students, EDUGEP offers all students manuals at the beginning of the school year and also provides teacher training with the author of the project in order to implement it.
The attendance management system, in conjunction with the schools, is guaranteed by EDUGEP, and ensures, with the exception of situations resulting from unforeseen events, that absences from teachers are solved through a timely substitution, which allows the continuity of school activities without problems. To overcome this situation, EDUGEP hires teachers with hours to make substitutions, which allowed us to achieve, overall, a resolution of more than 99% of the absences, and in many cases reaching 100%. This year the reduction of schedules due to the organization of the CEA has made substitutions more complicated, having to resort to the division of students in the classes in cases where there are several classes at the same time in schools. In spite of this problem we still have been able to maintain performance levels that our partners expected.
The cross-curricular link is fundamental for the CEA to be significant and effectively enrich the curriculum. The Integrated Curricular Project is designed to respond to the needs of the schools, together with the Educational and Curricular Projects. Mechanisms have been created to support the supervision and curricular link with the PTT and the active participation in the development of the Annual Activity Plan. Thus, EDUGEP creates the conditions for the participation of teachers in meetings and workshops fundamental to the development and planning of their school activities.
In order to facilitate the implementation of Play Based Activities, EDUGEP develops activities of artistic expression contextualized by the class curriculum, in which the integration of varied activities and technologies allows for great diversity of curricular paths. This is supported by material kits distributed to teachers to carry out the project. It is often with the development of this area that schools win projects, fairs or competitions.
Thanks to the investment in regular development of activities, supported by some schools, it is possible to substitute teachers who teach Study Support, guaranteeing the regular functioning of all Curriculum Enrichment Activities, in many cases, the carrying out of benchmarking tests and the development of specific projects. We support schools in solving logistical issues such as improving facilities, construction of sports grounds, classroom rental and repairs. We also support schools in carrying out various activities, such as: study visits, Benchmarks; sports activities (athletics, swimming), Christmas parties, Peace Day, Carnival, Father´s, Mother´s, Children Day, graduation parties etc.
We emphasize this being an integrated project that responds to the specific needs of the schools, along with the Educational and Curricular Projects, prepared to send to the DGEstE, according to the specifications of the Schools. Coordination is built by areas that, in addition to training and supervising CSA teachers, accompany the implementation of the activities in each school. This project is also possible through the creation of supervisory mechanisms in liaison with classroom teachers, who facilitate the fulfillment of school monitoring responsibilities.
The highly-skilled coordination team has four members with experience in basic primary level education through an internet-based system.
Our company aims to carry out high quality activities, guaranteeing execution of more than 95% of classes, thanks to a substitution scheme that allows us to overcome almost all teachers' absences.
The qualitative and descriptive evaluation of the students is carried out by a lead teacher in an integrated way, according to basic primary level standards.
We have successfully executed Curricular Enrichment Activities even when the physical conditions of the schools are complex, with our solid structure and the added value of offering materials to support the student activities and schools.
